PRACTICAL NURSES: RETENTION INCENTIVE PAYMENTS

  1. A lump sum retention incentive payment, in two installments, will be paid to all licensed Practical Nurses serving in the titles identified below and employed on a floor, in a ward, in a cottage, or in a residential unit in a facility operating on a three shift, seven-day schedule.

  2. Licensed Practical Nurses must be in a position involved in direct care and be serving in one of the titles specified below.

  3. Employee must have been functioning as a Practical Nurse in accordance with 1 and 2 above by December 1, 2003 to be eligible for these payments. Length of service as of December 1, 2003 will determine amount of payment as listed below.

  4. Payments:
      Installment 2 Installment 1  
      Less than one year
    $1,500.00
    $1,500.00  
      At least one year but less than two years
    $1,250.00
    $1,250.00  
      At least two years but less than three years
    $1,000.00
    $1,000.00  
      At least three or more years
    $ 500.00
    $ 500.00  

  5. Only licensed Practical Nurses defined in 1, 2, and 3 above who continue to serve in one of the following titles on the dates of payment will be eligible. Service in a temporary (TES) capacity is not included:

      Practical Nurse 03844  
      Practical Nurse (Deaf Language Specialist) 03844D  

  6. Eligible employees must be active and in pay status on the date of payment to be eligible to receive the appropriate installment of their Incentive. Incentive will be paid out in two equal installments. The first installment to be paid in the first full Supplemental Pay Period following formal approval of this salary regulation. The second installment to be paid in the first full Supplemental Pay Period following June 01, 2004.

  7. This one-time special salary program shall be in effect, unless superceded, through Fiscal Year 2004 only.
