EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related engineering discipline, including 9 credit hours in a combination of courses in soil science, hydrology and/or hydraulics. EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of professional engineering experience in work relating to land use and development, at least two (2) years of which shall have been in the design and application of soil erosion and sediment control practices.

NOTE: A Master’s degree in any of the subjects listed above may be substituted for one (1) year of the indicated experience, other than that required in soil erosion and sediment control. If substituting a Master’s Degree for one (1) year of experience, please upload a copy of your transcripts with your application. Failure to do so will result in ineligibility.

NOTE: Five (5) years of experience working in soil conservation districts with a demonstrated proficiency in the knowledge of erosion and sediment control and storm water management, including complex hydrologic and hydraulic engineering design analysis, can be substituted for the indicated experience.

LICENSE: Appointees will be required to possess a valid professional engineering license issued by the NJ State Board of Professional Engineers.

Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform essential duties of the position. 

The responsibility for ensuring that employees possess the required motor vehicle license, commensurate with the class and type of vehicles they operate, rests with the Appointing Authority.
