BUILDING MAINTENANCE INSPECTOR
DEFINITION
Under direction, inspects buildings and grounds for cleanliness
and damages; does other relation duties as required.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:
Inspects buildings and grounds to determine cleaning and simple
maintenance tasks to be accomplished.
Inspects for soiled floors and any damaged property such as
broken windows or furniture.
Maintains records and files.
Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic
and/or manual recording and information systems used by the
agency, office, or related units.
REQUIREMENTS:
EXPERIENCE:
One (1) year of experience in work involving the inspection,
cleaning, and maintenance of furniture, fixtures, offices, and
buildings and/or in the care and maintenance of grounds.
LICENSE:
Appointees will be required to possess a driver=s license
valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather
than employee mobility, is necessary to perform essential duties
of the position.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of problems, procedures, and operations involved in
inspecting, analyzing, and planning building and ground
maintenance work to be done.
Ability to formulate an effective work program.
Ability to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual
recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or
related units.
Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in
English sufficiently to perform duties of this position.
American Sign Language or Braille may also be considered as
acceptable forms of communication.
