Summary: Section 4E – The titles listed below are to be added to the salary regulation to assist the Department of Transportation in ensuring there are qualified resident engineers on all projects which require such supervision. Due to past and pending retirements, and as a result of promotional and hiring freezes, there are not enough employees left in the existing titles qualified for this regulation to meet the demand for project engineers. As a result, the Department of Transportation is required to assign other employees not originally designated to be project engineers and they request the inclusion of the listed titles so they may be properly compensated. Assistant Engineer, Planning; Assistant Engineer, Traffic; Engineering Technician 1; Principal Engineer, Planning; Principal Engineer, Traffic; Principal Environmental Specialist; Project Engineer, Planning; Project Engineer, Traffic; Senior Engineer, Planning; Senior Engineer, Traffic; Supervising Engineer, Electrical; Supervising Environmental Engineer and Supervisor of Bridges and Structures.
